Out of prison, but stuck in Peru

For Deutsche Welle we interviewed an Italian born German citizen, who recently got out of prison in Peru. Like many other foreign ex-convicts, he is stuck in the country: bureaucracy has it that he has to have his exit-papers arranged. This takes some 8 months on average, during which the foreigners aren't allowed to find legal work and often get into trouble again.

It's an absurd form of legislation. Hope our reporting helps to push change.
